This is the first bow actually developed for musical saws! It has a revolutionary design that is both stylish and elegant, combining traditional hardwoods with a state of the art carbon fiber shaft. These bows work great on any bowed instrument - not just musical saws. For example, I did extensive testing on violins and violas - even on a big viola d'amore with a cello bass string! In every test, the Stradbow outperformed all of my regular violin, viola, cello and bass bows - no mean feat, when you consider that I used to restore and repair fine bows, and I still have lots of them to compare against! On the musical saw, the Stradbow will improve your playing - considerably! If not, you can return it for your money back! 100% SATISFACTION UNCONDITIONALLY GUARANTEED.
The Stradbow has the following features:
- Unique modular design: there are four matched hardwood components, which share a carbon-fiber shaft. The lathed-turned wooden adjustment knob, the frog, the grip and the bow tip are all made from matching hardwood, and they can be removed for future repairs and adjustments.
- Fully adjustable, with a tensioning knob like a regular bow.
- By default, the bow is strung with Incredihair - a revolutionary synthetic hair with a special coating that holds rosin like a magnet! Stradbows are also available with traditional dark horsehair - the choice is yours!
- You get to choose your wood from about twenty gorgeous hardwoods! Select your wood at checkout. To look at some of the available hardwoods, please go to the "Hardwoods Gallery" page: www.musicalsawshop.com/hardwoods-gallery
- I can make a Stradbow in any desired size. The main three designs are 4/4 viola, cello and bass. Most saw players choose either the cello or the bass designs - both are 29" total length by default, but I can make custom lengths on demand.
- By default, Stradbows are made in weights that match the average weight in grams of the bow size that you select. For example, a bass Stradbow will weight well over 100 grams, etc. If you want a custom weight, please contact me when you check out. I can add weight to any existing Stradbow, or make it lighter to begin with!
- The frog on all Stradbows has distinctive engraving. Custom engraving can be added at no extra cost. Precious stone inlay is also available at extra cost.
These bows are true hand-built works of art. Like all hand-made instrument bows, they are very valuable - worth far more than the prices I ask for them. If you ever look up hand-made bows in general, you will be surprised to find that ALL hand-crafted bows go for way over a thousand dollars - look it up and see for yourself! Of course, I am not referring to mass-produced bows, which you can buy from 25 bucks on up into the hundreds! So Stradbows are a huge bargain - and an excellent investment. Only a very limited number of these unique bows will ever be made - and they are all collector items!
